Open Letter: Shoes wanted in which to walk one mile,

I would like to borrow a pair of your shoes, attempt to walk one mile in them, and return them to you. All shoes will be returned in the same condition that they were received. All sizes are welcome.

I will start to walk one mile in your shoes, but I will stop if continuing to walk will cause permanent damage to your shoes or my feet. After the mile (or portion thereof) is complete, the shoes will be returned to you with a short narrative describing the walk.
While the shoes are on loan you will receive a receipt which will include my contact information and a mutually agreed upon date and time of return.

If you are willing, some photographs and text generated by our interaction will be published on this website. This is by no means a requirement of participation; if you prefer, some or all of the documentation can remain private. Thank you for your interest and participation. *

*Geographical Note: If you are a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, I would be happy to pick-up/return your shoes in person. If you live outside of the San Francisco Bay Area, your participation is encouraged, but due to funding constriants you need to be responsible for postage.
